Normally, iranian author Amir Hassan Cheheltan, known for the Tehran Triology "Skyless City (2012)", "Revolution Street"(2022) and Tehran Apocalypse"(2022) and other books like „The circle of literature lovers“(2020), would prefer to speak about literature but at some points in time you do not have a choice. We talked about the current situation in Iran, the underlying injustices and bad governance that fueled the revolt after the triggering point of Mahsa Aminis death. From Amirs perspective the current uprising is something unique to the history of Iran. Generally he prefers reforms to revolution, but he makes clear that this "revolution was imposed to this country" by the regime that was unable to introduce reforms for decades now.
