Citizen.KANE.Radio: SAUTI ZA BOMA II - New short radio plays from Kenya

We brought back 24 new short radio plays from our guest performance tour with the production
‘SPHÆRE - collapse in space’ to the Kenya International Theatre Festival (KITFest Nairobi) in
November 2024. Swiss radio play director Erik Altorfer has organised radio play workshops with Kenyan radio play artists in six regions of the country. The result is 24 unique, authentic radio plays by and with talented Kenyan artists who raise their voices with fresh ideas and a great deal of passion. The focus is on contemporary issues such as queer love, life on autopilot, abusive family members, coping with trauma and the search for one's own identity in times of tension. The music for the audio pieces was created in close collaboration with the authors in the studio. The first part features 12 short radio plays from Embu, Kisumu and Nakuru. They show a modern country far removed from clichés - the narrative power and energy of the productions will now also inspire listeners in Germany.

In the studio, host Christian Müller talks live with Martin Schütz and Wandiri Karimi..
